ReCover Louth, Coveris’ pioneering de-inking and recycling facility, has been selected as a finalist following the first round of judging in the Packaging Europe Sustainability Awards. This is the leading global competition for packaging sustainability with an international panel of expert judges that shines a light on developments making a tangible difference to sustainability in our industry.
ReCover Louth is shortlisted in the ‘Driving the Circular Economy’ category, which recognises breakthroughs and innovations in recycling technology, initiatives promoting increase in recycling rates or nurturing demand for recyclate and ground-breaking use of recycled feedstocks.
Supporting our mission to keep plastic circular, ReCover Louth opened in 2023 and uses trailblazing de-inking recycling technology. Via the ReCover de-inking and recycling process, printed flexible film waste is transformed into high quality recycled PE resin, ReGen, for use in Coveris’ high-performance packaging.
Being selected as a finalist is a great achievement, and a powerful validation of our work. The winners will be announced at the Sustainable Packaging Summit from 12th – 13th November in Amsterdam. Good luck to the ReCover team!
