Coveris has been revealed as the winner of the FlexoTech Awards’ ‘Flexible Packaging (Narrow/ Medium Web) on Paper’ award for Gressingham Foods’ Deliciously Simple Duck Leg labels.
Bringing together the flexographic industry, the prestigious FlexoTech Awards took place in London on Wednesday 11th October. At the ceremony, Coveris was announced as the winner of the ‘Flexible Packaging (Narrow/ Medium Web) on Paper’ award for its linerless labels for Gressingham Foods’ Deliciously Simple Duck Legs.
Launched as part of a collaborative project with Coveris and Ravenwood Packaging to update Gressingham’s packaging for its four-line duck range, the industry-first portrait linerless labels deliver significant environmental and operational benefits for the duck manufacturer.
Whilst retaining the brand’s luxury presentation, Gressingham will save an impressive 3,400kg of CO2 and 24 tonnes of waste per year using Coveris’ linerless labels compared to its previous sleeve format.
Rob Court, Coveris’ Senior Business Development Manager, commented on the win, “With the FlexoTech Awards celebrating innovation, passion and excellence within the flexographic industry, this win is a fantastic achievement. This award outlines fantastically the value of collaboration as we lead the way for more innovative and sustainable packaging solutions in the sector.”
“We are delighted with the FlexoTech award win, working with Coveris and Ravenwood has been hugely successful, with both companies understanding our two-part vision to reduce our carbon footprint, whilst retaining our premium look and feel and this award helps to recognise this” Rebecca Alderton, Marketing and Communications Manager at Gressingham.
