Coveris has raised £1,150 for the Boston and South Holland Group (Lincolnshire, UK) of the MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Society. The money was handed over to Ian Cox, a local representative from the charity, in a presentation in December.
Every year Coveris’ Paper Business Unit holds a charity golf tournament which this year was hosted at Norwood Park in Southwell, Lincolnshire. 45 golfers from Coveris and Amberley Labels (part of the Coveris Group) sites in Boston, Cramlington, Spalding, St Neots and Wisbech battled it out on the golf course in the hope of winning the coveted replica Claret Jug. Overall champion was Andy Williams from Coveris Spalding who also won a trophy and a £100 voucher.
Working for a better tomorrow, Coveris is committed to supporting its local communities and environments. The charity golf tournament has been held almost every year since 1994 and has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
Andrew Wiltshire, Coveris’ Operations Manager (Board), helped organise the day. He said: “We chose the Boston and South Holland Group of the MS Society as we know people who have unfortunately been affected by multiple sclerosis.
“It’s a really worthwhile cause and they do great work in the local community providing friendship, support and information to sufferers and their loved ones.
“I would like to thank all our colleagues at Coveris who took part and sponsors Mark Andy, MPS, Lundberg, Arco, Bobst, CV Electrical and High-tech Fire and Security Ltd for their generous support.
“We had great fun organising the event, the team spirit on the day was fantastic and of course we were delighted to raise such a good amount of money.”
Ian Cox from the Boston and South Holland MS Society Group said: “All funds raised by and those donated to our group are used to support local MS sufferers in the form of social events and wellbeing grants to help pay for equipment including scooters, beds, chairs and home adaptions as well as holidays.
“We would like to say a big thank you to Andrew and all those who took part in the charity golf day for choosing our group and our cause.
“Your support helps us to continue our support.”
Well done to the participants of Coveris’ Paper BU Golf Day for raising this money for charity and continuing to make a difference in our local communities.
